Job Opportunity - Mechanical Design Engineer

McAree Engineering Ltd. are one of Irelands leading Sheet metal fabrication companies specializing  in Bulk Storage Solutions and bespoke mechanical engineering solutions.

Due to the introduction of a number of new projects we have the position of a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer.

Your role will specify, design and draught components and assemblies for a wide variety of projects and product design from initial concept though manufacturing to delivery. All work is in Mild steel, Aluminum & Stainless Steel.

The role demands a high level of technical and financial responsibility, together with the ability to work with customers, engineers, sub contractors, suppliers and in-house resources to ensure technical quotations and resulting projects are completed on time and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist in the design, costing and manufacture of industrial HVAC ducting.

  • To produce system designs and costing for bulk storage solutions under the guidance of the R&D Manager.

  • To work under the direction of the Operations Manager to plan, manage, monitor and control individual projects from order acceptance through to final invoicing.

  • To assist in achieving or exceeding the estimated Sales Margins whilst ensuring technical and contractual security of projects to the satisfaction of the customer.


Require

  • Honours Mechanical Engineering degree

  • Minimum 3 years full time experience with a sheet metal fabrication company

  • Current commercial experience with Solidworks, Autocad & Trumpf TOPs programming system

  • Experience of dealing directly with customers on a project management basis.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks

  • Good understanding/sense of aesthetics, ergonomics, vibration effects

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Project Management Experience desirable


The role is for an initial period of 6 months.
