McAree Engineering announce €5M Expansion and the creation of 30 extra jobs

The purchase of a new 12m 2.5m Trumpf 8000 laser which will be the largest laser bed in Ireland and the UK and will significantly increase their metal processing capacity from 150 ton per week to 230 tons per week. This laser will be installed and operational by mid-July.
The addition of an Oxylan Pre-treatment system for their Dry Powder paint plant at their Carrickroe facility which is in the final stages of commissioning.


It is expected that this investment will lead to the creation of at least 30 jobs over the next 2 years with opportunities for Mechanical Design Engineers, Sheet Metal Fabricators, and Operations staff. The recruitment program for this staff has already started.
Speaking at the North East Lean Network Open day held at their Ballinode Factory, Managing Director, Brendan McAree “We are delighted to make this announcement today in the presence of our local Minister Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise, and Innovation. This is the largest investment McAree Engineering has ever made and it is in response to the growing demand from our customers.
We feel that this is a wonderful statement of our intent to continue to be leaders in the sectors that we operate in and is testament to the wonderful team that works in McAree Engineering that has worked hard to get us to this position”.

Over 90% of what we manufacture is either exported directly or indirectly and we want to be in a position to support our customers in their efforts to grow their own businesses”

About McAree Engineering
McAree Engineering was set up in 1946 by Vincent McAree, just outside the picturesque village of Ballinode in North Monaghan. His son, Brendan McAree is the current Managing Director and three of his children are working closely with him in the business: Vincent, a qualified engineer is the Operations Director; Claire, an accountant is the Financial Controller and John is a Production Manager. Nuala, Brendan’s wife is the company secretary.
The business employs 120 people across two factories in North Monaghan whose focus is on the design and manufacture of sheet metal fabrication solutions for the industrial and agricultural sectors.
They offer a full outsource sheet metal service from design through to laser cutting, folding, fabrication, dry powder paint coating and assembly.
In addition, they design and manufacture the V-Mac range of bulk storage silos servicing the agricultural, bio-mass and waste water industry in Ireland and the UK.


They also have a Projects division, operating out of their Carrickroe factory which focuses on specialist project-based design, fabrication and manufacturing & coatings service for the industrial sector.
